1951 Born 27th of October in West Bromwich, England.  
1966 Leaves home for a career as a professional musician.

1969 K.K. puts together his first band with Ian Hill.  
1970 First version of Judas Priest forms with K.K. on guitar, Al Atkins on vocals, Ian Hill on bass and John Ellis on drums.
1971 Ellis leaves with first Alan Moore and later Chris “Congo” Campbell replacing
1972 Heavy touring schedule with approximately 150 gigs.
1973 Atkins and Campbell leave the group. Rob Halford joins the band on vocals and John Hinch becomes the new drummer.
1974 Glenn Tipton joins just before recording for Gull, “Rocka Rolla” debut album is released  
1975 Reading Festival, Old Grey Whistle tv-show appearance, Alan Moore joins on drums.
1976 “Sad Wings Of Destiny” is released.
1977 A worldwide record deal with CBS, Simon Phillips drums on “Sin After Sin.” Supports Status Quo. First US tour with Les Binks on drums, supporting Led Zeppelin in Oakland, Day Of The Green. Over 75 000 people see the show. First show in Finland, “Midnight Sun” Festival near Lapland.
1978 “Stained Class” is released. The band adopts now classic motorbike, leather and studs look. Supports UFO in the US, AC/DC in Europe.“Killing Machine” is released later in the year. It is titled “Hell Bent For Leather” in the US. Priest’s first hit single “Take On The World” and first Top of the Pops appearance.
1979 Recorded in Japan, “Unleashed In The East” is released, more tours supporting Kiss, Dave Holland joins the band.
1980 Priest play the first ever Donington Monsters Of Rock Festival, Rainbow headlines, Priest is supported by Scorpions, Saxon, April Wine and Riot. ”British Steel” hits big with two videos “Breaking The Law” and “Living After Midnight.” US tour with Def Leppard and Scorpions supporting.
1981 “Point Of Entry” is released. Touring Europe with Accept, Saxon and Def Leppard supporting. Later tour in the US, Iron Maiden supports.
1982 “Screaming For Vengeance” hits multi platinum ,massive US “World Vengeance Tour,” Iron Maiden and Uriah Heep support. Final breakthrough. “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’” becomes band’s biggest hit single. Classic live video is shot in Memphis.
1983 US Festival performance ,San Bernandino California. 250.000 fans in the audience, Priest play with Triumph, Mötley Crue, Van Halen and Ozzy Osbourne.  
1984 “Defenders Of The Faith” is released, more touring. Support bands include Quiet Riot, Ted Nugent and Great White.

1985 Live Aid performance in Philadelphia.  
1986 “Turbo” is released, “Fuel For Life” tour around the globe. Bon Jovi, Dokken and Warlock warm up.
1987 “Priest...Live” LP and Video are released.  
1988 “Ram It Down” album issued. “Mercenaries of Metal” Tour Slayer supporting, return to play in the UK after 4 years where Cinderella supports.
1989 Dave Holland leaves and Scott Travis is recruited on drums.  
1990 “Painkiller” is released, Priest play Foundations Forum, tour begins. Megadeth and Testament support.  
1991 “Painkiller” tour continues in Europe with Pantera and Annihilator opening. Album receives Grammy Award, Priest play in Rock in Rio festival and later US Operation Rock’n’Roll with Alice Cooper and Mötorhead. Final gig with Rob Halford in Toronto, 19.8.1991.

1992 1992 Rob Halford quits Judas Priest.  
1993 “Metal Works” double compilation album and video are released.  
1994 Priest write their next album while Halford heads to a solo career.  
1995 The band goes through hundreds of demos for a new vocalist.  
1996 Priest confirm Tim “Ripper” Owens as their new singer.  
1997 JP releases heavy and brutal “Jugulator.” K.K. puts in a big effort on the album.  
1998 First world tour in over six years commences, “Live Meltdown ‘98” is released.  
1999 New record deal with Atlantic.  
2000 Priest write and prepare next album.  
2001 “Demolition” is released and world tour follows. Savatage and Anthrax support. London, Brixton Academy special Christmas show with Saxon.  
2002 World tour continues.  
2003 “Live In London” CD and Priest’s first DVD from Brixton Academy are released. “Electric Eye” DVD is also issued. Priest reunite with Rob Halford and re-sign with Sony. Remasters are released.  
2004 A box set “Metalogy” is released, A reunion tour begins in Hannover 2.6.2004, Annihilator once again supports with Queensryche stepping in for two gigs. Priest tour Ozzfest with Black Sabbath.  
2005 “Angel of Retribution” is released and Priest goes out on world tour, In Flames supports in Europe. “Rising In The East” DVD shot in Japan. K.K. produces and guests on Mick Cervino’s Violent Storm project.

2006 A tribute show to Tommy Vance in prestigious Royal Albert Hall. Priest headlines after Scorpions, Ian Gillan and Boned. Later VH1 ceremony in Las Vegas with Def Leppard, Kiss and Queen.
2007 K.K.Downing Steel Mill Internet site launched: www.kkdowning.net, K.K.Downing Steel Mill Internet site launched: www.kkdowning.net. K.K. performs live with Sturm Und Drang. Priest receives the Kerrang! Hall Of Fame award for outstanding career in metal.

 

2008 First anniversary of Steel Mill, Priest prepares to release long awaited ”Nostradamus” project. A tour is announced.

2009 A second anniversary and the facelift of Steel Mill. Priest Feast-tour resumes with Megadeth and Testament supporting. Priest announces they will play the whole “British Steel” album live in North America this summer to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
2010 A 2CD remaster of “British Steel” is released and also includes a full concert DVD shot in Florida during the 30th anniversary tour.
2011

K.K. stepped down from Judas Priest. Steel Mill celebrates its fourth anniversary. K.K. teams up with Hostile and produces their debut album, he also co-writes their song “Addiction.”
